XGecu T48 Programmer Case
After 40 years of not needing any such thing, I was recently in need of a PROM burner. No surprise, the state of the art of burning EPROM/PROMs has advanced a bit across said decades. I grabbed an XGecu T48 programmer with UV eraser (of the most chinesium of make around – more on that later).
It came with no case.
Fine. Whatever. I’ll print one. The closest to what I needed was a T48 case by CYUL on MakerWorld. Neat design. Holds the programmer with a port in the side so you don’t have to remove it to plug in the USB cable and use it.
Unfortunately, it was a bit small as the kit I bought came with a considerably larger adaptor board than anything CYUL modeled around. Yay! Remix culture embraced!
I pasted the URL to CYUL’s case into codex and typed:
Modify CYUL's case to fit my 90mm × 90mm × 40mm adaptor board and inscribe a label on the lid while you're at it.
Codex did exactly that. Didn’t even ask me any refining question. Gave me a preview which I OK’d and codex sliced the model then sent it to the Prusa XL for printing.
End result fits perfectly. No draft prints. One and done.
A friend quipped that this is kinda like having a very early generation Star Trek replicator. Slow, limited material, but, yeah, ask for what I want and, with a bit of coaching, I can get it. But, yeah, pretty magical.
In keeping with attribution and share-alike, a huge thanks to CYUL for sharing the original model. My remix is up on Printables: XGecu T48 Programmer Case — D42 Adapter Storage & Two-Color Lid.
Remixed. Share-alike. This is the way.
